View Full Version : New ATI Drivers! 3286 for XP

Wow, ATI actually put out a new set of drivers, that have enable smoothvision.
With the drivers and 20013Dmark you may notice your benchmark scores go down,your FPS in Nature go up about 15-20 percent, and all games FPS go down by about 10 percent. The driver seem to work ok in terms of stability, smoothvision looks great enabled and works good, but boy do your FPS take a huge hit like expected. It may or may not matter as IMHO 60fps is the goal to hit for great smooth gameplay, but like I said all along this next generation feature should be on a card with 128mb of RAM and larger bus piping, like quad 64 bit or dual 128 bit pipes, all in all these drivers show some more promise, but already im waiting for the next driver batch.:rolleyes:

HOLD THE BOAT! After changing my AGP aperture setting from 64(which was the best setting with an older driver)to 256 I just ripped a 7803!!! All stock settings too! Hmmm...........ATI may be heading in the right direction after all..........
