how many songs can you store in a 200Gb Hard Drive?
it depends on what format/quality theyre recorded on/at.

As previously mentioned, the bitrate will need to be given before determining how many megabytes/minute the audio is encoded at. Also, what would you say is the average length of the songs?

for high quality I would say 20,000 songs.
I have 11,000 songs taking up 107 GB. Most are 192kbps but many are 320kbps mp3.

Buy an internal hdd and an external case rather than buying an external hdd. It will save you money and have a better warranty!

I would say it depends on the song length, bit and sample rate. The cluster size may also make a difference, especially if all you songs are really, really small.
