Alright, question for everyone out there. I'm running Deus Ex in Open GL for the (A) better performance and (B) better look. The game runs better and looks slightly better in OpenGL - with a small problem. "off white" on some items. Everyone has "glass sunglasses" the pistols have their blast outlined in the same glassy feel. If I could get rid of these I'd be much happier. Does anyone have a solution to this? (And yes, I know OpenGL isn't offically supported by Deus).

Be happy you got it even to run in OpenGL- I gave up on getting it to work a while ago. :D Sure it played, at a good FPS too, but there were so many artifacts and graphical errors it made the game unplayable for me. I gave up and went back to D3D.

Perhaps try a newer version of your video card drivers; a new Detonator version took the game from 10FPS to about 60 in D3D for me.

I had the same problem.... the blast outlines were just too bad, so I went back to D3D.. But the game looks awful in d3d!!! :mad:Im using the 22.50s.

Yep. It's a hard choice. I've went back and forth a lot. OpenGL has performance and looks but those damn blast lines get distracting! It's a hard choice, ATM I'm in D3d but I don't know, I might go back... grr....
