LOL
Ok, enough of 2D& 3D graphics quality with some serious amount of memory bandwidth. LOL

Try one of these http://www.3dlabs.com/product/wildcatII_5110_index.htm It even uses one of those elusive AGP PRO slots:D

hmmm.. looks like that card you posted is quite freaking intriging.. a Super-Scene Antialiasing, wow.. point sampled with 16 samples. It's got 64mb though.. how much is it? Wonder if that AGP4X Pro 50 interface will work on the regular AGP slots we have.. I would like to have that card in my system. Would be good, LOL

Sorry to come in here and burst everyone's bubble, but those Über cards (Which are way out or our league at ~$1500 I might add) are phenominal at their purpose, which is CAD. Gaming, however, is not as good. Matter of fact, gaming with a CAD card is downright sickening.
They are not designed for pumping out complex textures quickly like gaming cards are, they are designed for raw crunching power, for use with ultra-high res, ultra-high poly 3D models that need to be manipulated quickly and efficiently.
When used with games, they perform rather pathetically, even before you concider the pricetag.
My neighbor is a graphic designer, and has a 3D Labs Wildcat II 5K. It's hideous at playing Counter-Strike (And no, his machine is not a mild workstation, it's a dual PIII Xeon 733 working with 2.5G of RAM.). I imagine a Wildcat II 5110 wouldn't be much better at all, if there is even any increase in gaming performance at all.
Dont get me wrong, I would still take one if it were given to me, but only because I would sell it, buy a GeForce3 Ti-500, then pocket the remaining $1000. :D
I'll stick with my modded GeForce2 Ultra, thank you very much.

this card is solely for imaging, same with the oxygen 128 mb cards that look the same as the one you see at the top...if you are doing gaming get a geforce/ati, if you wanna make movies and such, then spend alot extra on the big guys

umm.. actually it was a joke in the first place. ofcourse we knew these cards are high number crunching graphics sorely purposed in CAD and other types of heavy 3D graphics designs. These are not for gaming. I was joking about use one of these cards to play games. Was joking about the whole thing. Besides, these highend, high-priced cards's drivers are not tweaked for and probably not even really meant to be used in gaming anyway.
I figured you guys (You and RangerJoe) would reply to this thread (knew what was going to happen) and there you are. If you think you guys made good debating on this, well enjoy yourselves. :) because I wasn't in the debating team. hehe

Aww man, I didnt mean to get you mad, I'm sorry. =(
I was just trying to show you that they are terrible for gaming.
I didn't even realize until just now that you're the one from the car thread.
I need one of those.
When I find the alien I've been looking for by crunching SETI, he's going to need a runway to land on.

lol,
who said Wild Cat cards are no good for gaming??? there full of @hit if thats what they believe. These super high end workstation cards will blow any Radeon2/GeForce3 out of the water six times over if your Using OpenGL or HEIDI in any scene rendering (Quake3 cough cough). DirectX, yes they would perform like a voodoo2 ;) but lets not forget that the wildcat2 has 250MHz Q-Channel Memory (1GHz effective) of memory performance and has 128MB of memory, 64MB for Dedicated textures and 64MB for a dedicated frame buffer.
To tell the strait truth, a friend of mine who just got hired on with Bioware (Edmonton) uses a 5110 to bring together the advanced world of Never Winter Nights which is soon to be released!
Anyway, to give you an IDEA of how powerful this card is, he's using an AMD Athlon 1.2GHz with 1GB of ram and he's framerates in Quake 3 Arena with 4X FSAA @ 1920x1080x32 with 85hz, (85Fps).
85 frames fluid @ 1920x1080! Now, that is nice. But he told me that it took awhile for them to get the drivers stable enough just to play the game without crashing.
Ohya, and your tough outa luck cause these cards go for $5000 CAN. And you need a Pro slot:mad:
