I bought 2 water cool and I regret purchasing them since Air Cool is not much difference from them n water cool's water gets hot... (i didn't plug the fams in for radiator because the whistle of it hurts my ear!!) and now I think I should get a copper cooler master instead... DAMN!

Well of course the water will heat up if you dont have the fan running!

You must have a fan running for the radiator to radiate.

Watercooling is without a doubt the best method by which any person can cool a CPU. There is no comparison available for such cost. (Note that LN2 and other extreme cooling methods do not count, those checmials and supplies are not available to everyone, and the cost is conciderably higher.)

Even pre-built kits using thin 1/4" hose and poorly thought out waterblocks are more effective than an air cooled heatsink.

Not to mention you can get a sufficiently larger peltier into play and not worry about it like you would with a HSF.

How can I prevent the annoying sound then?

Just get another fan for the radiator. I've got Panaflo L1As - 4 of them. All four running at 12v is literally a whisper. Want proof, okay. *turns off all noise in area except CPU* okay... now *flicks fanbus off* I could barely hear the difference - the pump drowns them out. I'm upgrading the L1s to H1s (simply higher amp draw for a higher spin rate) but still, if the noise bugs you that much, get a Panaflo. They're whispers, honest.

Honestly, I am using Panaflo
Trust me.. the holes in between fins' shaped like a whistler!

If it's whistling that's bothering you, you need to alter the airflow somehow. Try repositioning the fans.

Basically you need to break up the flow of air by either increasing or decreasing the turbulence.

increasing the standoff will decrease the fan blade turbulence

if that does not help, it is probably a velocity related problem
put a pot on the fan(s) and reduce the voltage (and the air flow)

be cool

Well.... Does anyone here has radiator??

I don't use one but i have a truck heater core sitting on the floor i was going to use at one time. My temps stay at a low enough temp for now not i'm not going to bother installing it.

run the fans at 7 volts by plugging the negative wire into the +5 volts line(the red one) this should meke them silent

It sounds like the fans just need to be repositioned as they are "whistling" through the radiator, try this and the 5V trick "the overclocker" said and this should help.

Think i would just use a pot, what will happen to the potential on the board with +12 with a +5 return path, ultimately a short, surely

Quite amusing running water cooling with no fans though, I like that ;)

no 12V and 5V to make 7V works fine, there's no short.

Isn't the only -5 v rail on the mobo connector? I'm quite positive that a molex looks like: 12-0-0-5

enlighten me?

Well, I was going to suggest: loose the radiator & fan and put your pump in a large bucket of water, so you won't need any fans anymore.
that's the way I'm doing it richt now. I use a large bucket with a little more than 25 l of water. It takes ages to raise the temp of the water to problematic heights. Most of the evening my cpu is running at 26°C with 20°C ambient. I know, it's impossible when you have to move it a lot. But for me, this is the only way to go now ;)
My comp has only one fan in it's psu (obviously) and on 40mm fan on the video card. And the pump is perfectly silent. I don't think it can be made more quiet than this!
cheers

Yes this is true, although no one mentioned the -5V rail so why it;s an issue I'm not sure.

I also do the same that FLOW does. I have my pump in a 5 gallon paint bucket left over from a job i did. I have it suspended in the water though because when it sat on the bottom it made alot of noise. I hold temps around 13C but thats with the small peltier i'm using. Also my bucket is under my desk and i love putting my feet up against to keep them warm during the winter months.

Hey Phoenix,
13C that's a nice temp with only a small pelt. How much is it? And what did you do to isolate against condensation?
I placed my pump on a litle plastic sponge and like I said, its silent now.

I bought 2 peltiers over a year ago for around $25/ea. which came with coldplates and gaskets. 1 is burned up from a day when i forgot to turn the waterpump on. As for insulation i haven't done it yet and will as soon as i get the new peltier. I bought neoprene rubber material from DangerDen when i bought the waterblocks. When i do seal it i'll put dielectric grease in the socket first then neoprene cut to fit tight over the cpu and between it and the coldplate. I'll be siliconing every little gap as i go. I'm probably only going to seal from the peltier down for thats the only place that will be cool.

I just realized that i run my computer at 2 different speeds to which i didn't mention and i get 2 different temperature ranges.
@1785 i get 13C - 45C
@1958 i get 16C - shutdown at full load after 2 minutes or so

may i say you should buy yate loon fans the push a lot of air and are very quiet. oh and the best part is there cheap like $5
