Radio Shack sells yellow, blue, white, and infrared ones. And even then, there are probably others.

Red, green, orange, amber (orange and amber are slightly different), yellow, blue, infa-red, and white. I have never seen or heard of a purple led, and I have in my hand right now a catalog with just about every LED you could imagine, so it was probably a lens on a different colored LED that made it look purple.

I've seen MANY reds, some oranges, yellows, greens, and the blue in my mouse:D

purple may have been a small UV light that was the size of a LED but I have never seen a purple one? should be easy since they can coat a blue one to get a purple color think red marker.

They have UVs (blacklights) that look like leds?!?

well I use them at work for seeing dna but they tend to make you go blind so don't use that kind unless you use a shield of some kind.

I did not see purple, but I bet they exist.

There are rainbow LEDs around, with three pairs of anodes/cathodes, and depending on the voltage on each pair you can mix the desired colour. I've never tried it myself, but I#m sure it looks cool. And there are high-luminous LEDs that are almost as strong as a Baby Maglite!

if you get a multi-colored LED with red, green, and blue, you could make any color you want, but the only 3 colored ones I've seen are Red, Yellow, Green.

Also, I would be very surprised if a purple LED existed. Making a diffent color for a LED requires generating a different wavelength of light. Some wavelengths are difficult to make. Blue LEDs didn't even exist a few years ago, yet red LEDs have been around for quite a while. It takes time to develop a new color, and when the demand isn't that great (how many people would use a purple LED?), it doesn't seem smart to invest that time.
