View Full Version : Difference between Audigy 2 and X-fi?
I really want to purchase my first ever soundcard soon. I am torn between the two, however. X-fi seems a bit more intriguing while the Audigy 2 seems to have more solid reviews. For those who might have heard both, are there any differences between the two?
Ummm... it is just said by Creative themselves that the X-Fi has 27 times more processor power thatn the AudigyZ2

The X-Fi is a couple notches above the Audigy2 in just about every respect. Sound quality is much better, updated EAX support, and more. They do share the same DACs and mediocre amp (except the X-Fi Elite Pro). Also, the Audigy2 degrades sound quality by bad resampling.
Ahh, I see. So the 121 dollar version of the X-fi should be a good buy?

get the cheapest one you can find, the xtreme music edition
Wow! A real good price for what seems to be a kick ass card. And to think what it would be like if Agiea priced their cards like this ^_^
Just hope that this(see below) doesn't happen to u...
