In my system and 3 others we gat a baad set of RAM. these systems would work moderatly well under win98. couldn't install some programs and other would crash when you started them. Win2k couldn't be installed, it would keep telling us to check the CD. I funaly found out it was the RAm after sending 2 of them away to be fixed. this made me suspicious so I ran amemory check on the others and found that the RAM was bad.
the Reason I bring this up is that while troubleshooting this I was told to get a new harddrive, CD, CD-ROM and to do many hardware and software fixes to try and make this work. so save yourself the time and check the RAM.
