How good is the Dragon Orb 3 for overclocking?? I have an Athlon 1.3 gighz and the Fan is made for Athlon XP 1500+ so i would assume it would be decent but your guys opinion would help much.

Thanks

This should be in cooling. It's OK if you can get about 200CFM cleanly thru your case. But I suggest you look at THE RECOMENDED HSF (http://www.overclockers.com/articles373/) that can outperform the DOrb3. If I get off my duff I would buy a better one too. Hehehe just look at my sig.

Sure, they're acceptable if you aren't planning on overclocking at all, but for anything more than just a small drop in temps over stock cooling they are largely unacceptable.

Saw a pic of D orb IV =)

well, the dragon orb isn't horrible performance, it's just really loud(like the other 7k screamers).

There are much better heatsinks, but it's a descent price-performance ratio.

Are you joking?
They are bad man!!

Maybe you've had more success with them but they don't work for ocing!!

EDIT:
Dragon Orbs are fine for normal useage and little oc's but for hardcore oc'ers we need more!!

gotta agree with lennytiger.
if you wanna do some serious stuff ... you arent going to do well with your D Orb or any other Orb

Have you guys tried the DOrb3????? It's not the best but it sure outperforms a lot of HSFs. Unless you guys have done back to back tests on your systems with a DOrb3 againts what you use you guys really cant say that the DOrb3 sucks. I think I got a ok o/c & guess what I use? Look at what some of the guys here have o/c with the DOrb3 & they arent anything to sneeze at.

Untrue!! Both my PC's are o/c and both cooler than many others reported. 48c load in "hot" room

The DragonOrb3s are decent and if you look at the recommended hsfs its about 6th on the list.......its not the best but a good choice because of its price and looks....
