So I just picked up a DFI Lan Party UT NF-4 Ultra-D mobo and MSI X1900XTX to update my old system from AGP.

Anyways, whats the deal with the core/mem clocks reported in ATI Tool and ccc? Right now its reported as 500/600. Shouldn't it be 650/775? I read on here somewhere that there are "2d and 3d clocks"...Is this what I'm seeing?

The reason I ask is cause I was playing some UT2004 with the ccc window open on the desktop. I hit the windows button to get a look at what the clocks were...ccc was showing 500/600. Is there a way to turn this off? Should I? I'm not "freaked out" or anythign, I just want to understand whats goin on. As soon as I feel comfy with things running at stock speeds, then I'll start with the tweakin.

Btw...Scored 4848 on 3dMark06.....Does that sound about right?

So does everyone leave it like this with the 2d/3d thing? Or is it disable-able?

when you open a 3d apps it switches speeds :) from 2d, to 3d :)

I understand that.

What I'm asking is if it's something that people disable. Are there ever any issues with it?

If you use another overclocker other then CCC then yes you must disable it to OC. Most people disable it even if they don't OC it far or even on default voltages due to CCC not having any fan settings which is my primary use for disabling it.
