I was wondering if anybody knows where I can find some information on tweaking my modem for max proformance for the lowest ping time. I want to make it as good as I can for online gaming since I don't have the option to get brodband. So if anybody knows some tweak articles or utilities that I can get it would be much apreciated.
Thanks.

Tweak3D.net (http://www.tweak3d.net) has a decent tweak guide for a couple of OSes.
56K.com (http://www.56k.com) has drivers, firmware upgrades and a bunch of links (maybe a tweak guide or two).
Wagz.net (http://www.wagz.net/ping-guide.html) has a gaming ping guide I haven't really looked at. Just came across it in a search. Let us know if it's any good if you decide to try it.
If I can think of anymore I'll let you know.

Just posting a follow-up. I have gone through all the links you game me Jon and found some useful information. The Wagz site was very helpful and did drop my ping from 340-380 to 280-320 which I consider a great improvement.
The one thing that all the links said to do that I couldn’t get to work was setting the COM channel that your modem uses to a max speed of 115200 and setting flow control to hardware. First of all I might be looking in the wrong place but I only have COM 1 & 2 in the device manager. And setting them to 115200 helps a little but changing flow control from "Xon/Xoff" to "hardware" causes the modem to not connect.
Second my modem usually connects at 44000 and I was wondering if anybody knows how to increase that closer to 56k.
Third I have gotten a decrease in ping but no improvement in stability. The game I am playing is Counter Strike and I still get a lot of times where the connection gets unstable and I get packet loss and lag, would be nice if anybody knew how to decrease this.
Oh and lastly the Wagz page that Jon posted had a link to the Tweak3d site with an article on Half-life/Counter Strike that game you the commands and directions on tweaking the net code through the consul.
Thanks and Coriolis I am going to check out your links right now.
