Hey guyz what can i do with my INtel Pentium III 1ghz.. if i overclock it do i need extra fans and how do i overclock it.. from the bios?? fsb?? someone help me..
Is it a branded computer?
IF not.. What motherboard do you have? Do you have the 1000e or the other one?
You might be in luck of a good overclocker dude.. And yes I would recommend Artic Silver II Thermal Paste and a way better heatsink THATS IF YOU HAVE A GOOD MOTHERBOARD AND KNOWING YOU CAN OVERCLOCK GOOD..
You would change from the bios.. And like CPU Settings and you would have a "User Define" option.

Yeah its dell
I dont think you can oveclock it..
But check your bios to see if you have a User Define option..
Go download "Sisoft Sandra" and see if its using a 3rd party motherboard.. Some are using Asus some are using Intel boards.

Yea, you may be out of luck. Though we have a user on here who says they have a program to unlock the Dell BIOS. They are currently subscribed in the "using P4" thread, check there. The threas shoule be under "Intel CPUs" I believe his user name is "trey_w". Watch to see if he says anything about it in the next few days....
Pre-Assembled computers can sometimes be a pain to work
with. Can you locate the model # if you can find it you may be
able to find the settings for the jumpers if the board is not
jumperless, by doing this you will greatly increase your
overclocking chances. Please try to locate the model # of the
board and tell us what it is, it would be most likely printed on
the front of the board or on a sticker. It usually is located to
the bottom left ot in-between the add-on busses.(ISA/PCI/AGP/CNR etc.)
If it is jumperless you may be able to find the correct BIOS,
not dells BIOS. Then you would do a quick BIOS chip switch,
and there you go! Sometimes Flashing also works/I would not
recommend attempting this as Dell most likely is useing its
own bios version.
