So I bought this adapter http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16812107112 and it seems I still need the power connector. My PC is prewired for 4 hard drives with SATA cables for power and data. I can't for the life of me figure out what I need to do(buy) to get power to my IDE drive. Someone please help!

You don't have any Floppy connectors ?
If not, go snag a floppy to molex connector.
Something like this (http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/mamotofefl.html).

actually no. there is no floppy drive on my PC. With the piece you posted, that would only connect power to the smaller 4 pin connection on the adapter right? What about the molex connection on the HD? I need something to bridge that and the SATA power cables already present in the HD slot.

He needs that adapter and a molex splitter. If you go to your local computer store they should have those.

Your power supply should already have a bunch of standard molex connectors. You cannot use sate power connectors on non-sata hard drives. Your adapter allows you to use IDE hard drives with sata data cables, but you still have to use regular molex power.
