Death to cd drive :(

Welp... My awsome clear led modded cd-drive has whent to the computer store in the sky.. I was messing around and when to plug it back in.. the connector was upside down but somehow managed to touch the drives connector.. the drive lit up but i knew it wasnt connected right and right after that the pc turned off (pretty slow for a short? like 3 seconds)... now the cd drive wont open and close of function but my mod still works... what got fried? and can I replace it.

how are your LEDs powered? sending 12V to somethin that only wants 5V could have caused alot of damage to the drives board. probably killed alot of the circuits.

I have my led ran off 2 resistors right from the main connectors.. the led worked fine for 2 weeks.. it was me accidently stickin the connector near the cd drive connector BACKWARDS that did it. :(

you will need to get a new board for that drive. i don't think its worth it. probally cheaper to get a new drive and mod that. thats most unfortunate tho.
