Can someone explain the difference between an upgrade version of an OS and a full version? I thought the upgrade had to be installed over a previous OS but it can also be installed on a freshly formated drive. If any can let me know...
Thanks,
Dr.
Full Version is the stand alone OS itself(People who have no operating system will buy this)
If you buy upgrade .. And do a clean install..
Lets say you had Win XP Upgrade...
It'll prompt you for:
a. Windows 98 Folder Dir or you can stick your Windows 98 cd in.
b. Your Win 2k folder or the disc.
both types will do full installs but you get cheaper price on upgrade due to the fact it checks for older version either installed or by means of old install disk or cd from previous release of the OS - the full install will not check for that...
