Yea i just set up a network with my bro and everything is working fine. All i wanted to know is how to setup so when im online (dial up) he can surf the net too. But only when im online cuz i got one phone line. Can anyone help me?
Easiest way is to put a NIC in each PC, get a crossover cable (normal CAT5 will NOT do), connect the NICs with the crossover and then use the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) wizard to set it all up for you.
It'll have you both up and running in less than 15 minutes (if you're slow, haha).

yea i know i do have NICs installed with a cross over cabel and i did try internet connection sharing wizard but it doesnt work. I have ipx/spx, tcp/ip, NetBeui and and that installed.
You only need TCP/IP.
Can't see why it wouldn't work though.
Try setting it up manually. Go to the PC the modem is installed on and go to Network Properties. Make sure file sharing is enabled. Go into TCP/IP properties that are binded to the NIC. Set the IP address as 192.168.0.1. Set Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0. Leave Default Gateway blank. Click OK and you'll probably need to reboot.
Go to the second computer. Make sure File Sharing is enabled. Go into TCP/IP properties that is binded to the NIC. Set the IP address to 192.168.0.2. Set the Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0. Set the Default Gateway (FOR THIS PC ONLY!) to 192.168.0.1. Click OK and you'll need to reboot.
Dial-up a connection on the modem enabled PC and once you establish a connection see if the other can connect.
EDIT:
I would also remove NETBEUI and IPX/SPX since I can see no use for them and they will only bog things down for you if they are enabled and not in use.

sorry Jon but it still doesnt work. here is what i did
1. I did everything u told me to do, it didint work.
2. I removed netbeui and ipx/spx that are bonded to my NIC, still didint work and I couldint log on to my network because it didint give me a network log on thing.
3. I removed the normal ipx/spx, still didint work.
4. I rechecked every thing, still didint work.
5. I went to tcp/ip that is bonded to my nic and set that protocol to be my deafult protocol, and it still didint work.
6. Im using a crossover cabel and file sharing and printer sharing and games work but the internet doesnt work.
7. I would appreciate more advice.
