When I build my new comp do I need a 1.44 floppy drive? I'm going to put a Zip and was wondering if I could replace the floopy drive w/ the Zip drive. I can get a floppy for around $20 bucks but if I don't have to then that could go elsewhere.

i didn't put one in my new comp, i used a network boot and used a floppy in another machine on my network

Floppies are definately going out of style, but they're not there yet. When your comp needs to boot from a floppy (to flash the BIOS or run some system diagnostics) it's nice to have the floppy in place already.
