I just got my new athlon xp 1600 chip today and it came oem with a little orange sticker on it

I removed the sticker, gently, and now there is a very small amount of residue (and finger smudge) on the chip ..

what is the best way to remove this?

probably a bit of acetone or rubbing alcohol...

no, also try a pencil eraser
