i shutdown last night, boot this morning, and bang! right when i was booting, i blew out a work unit.
anybody know if it was just a fluke or what? i havnt changed anything since my last stability test (and i really like it stable) 2 weeks ago...

Try another wu if it continues to eue then you have a problem, but one eue does not a problem make.:)

I would keep an eye on it though.

Odds are it was a fluke if nothing has changed on your system and it has been folding good for awhile.

I echo Oric... probably nothing to worry about. But, these Ribos do have a larger memory footprint... so if I were to suspect anything I'd look at ram stability first. I've had these big WUs blow up on me even after long(24+ hrs) prime blend runs and memory has always been the culprit.

hmmm, interesting to ponder...
i did my last stability test because i had found i had become -unstable-
my ram used to HATE voltage, and was only stable at 2.5- and now it needs 2.65.
how did i find this out?
BIOS actually told me that the ram failed the read/write test.

if i need to bump the voltage AGAIN within 2 weeks i might actually make use of crucials lifetime warrenty.
