Been lurking here for a year or so but now I need actual interaction.
Ive read the FAQs and things but it seems for a PSU its a good idea to get case to case input.
My old PSU, FSP Bluestorm 500W, has 2 flaws. Im not sure its got enough juice and its started to make a weird noise. I dont like weird noises.
So I need some suggestions for the following system. Id like to keep under $100, but am willing to pay for quality.
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3800+ w/ AC 64 Freezer Pro
Mobo: ASUS A8R-MVP
Drives: 2x Optical (DVD DL Burner and DVD ROM)
HD: 74 WD Raptor SATA, 250 WD IDE
GPU: ASUS x1900xt w/ AC x2 (crossfire in the future?)
Other: Floppy drive, 3x 80mm fans, 1x 120mm fan
So there it is. I was looking at the OCZ PowerStream 520 that seems to be popular. If there is anything just as good that costs a little less that would be great too.
(I recently upgraded 80% of the system and the FSP Bluestorm kept up with the old one. It now makes a slight grinding sound and I will sometimes get a graphics hold when gaming.)
Thanks in advance.
