if you didnt have fan 1, and had fan 2 blowing and fan 3 sucking it should improve cooling, but this is only a guess
Ive done something close to that design before I built my water cooling. The only difference was that I had only 2 fans. I had basiclly 1 nad 2 but no 3. It actually did drop the temp by 2 or 3 degrees. Its not much but it let me OC the CPU a lil bit more... 3 I think would actually be a bit much unless it was a HUGE HeatSink. The air would (IMO) move too fast to really take any of the heat away... But I could be wrong there... But the 2 worked decent enough...

I used 2 fans on my Alpha PEP66 (retired now), because it couldn't cool the tbird well enough. I found out that the PEP didn't like overpressure at all, it caused the temps to skyrocket to higher than with a single fan. I don't know if it would've like the fans to be alike, since they were both different types.
If you try that 3 fan combo, be sure to check the temps and try all the variations of airflow to get the best possible result. Also, make a duct over the heatsink, so that the air doesn't escape unwantedly.
Hope this helps :)
