Will a PCI video card work with a motherboard that has an AGP slot?

yeah, i dont see why you would want to though, any mobo with PCI slots will run a PCI video card....

Yes. You could actually run one of each in a system with an AGP slot. The bois should have a setting for which slot the system looks to as the primary video slot, the choices will be AGP or PCI. If you've only got the PCI card then that setting may be irrelevant. Look in the motherboard manual for which PCI slot shares an interrupt with the AGP slot and put the card in that one, I think it's usually the PCI slot closest to the AGP.

***edit: I just realized that last bit may be confusing. What I meant was if you are only going to use a PCI card then put it in the slot that shares the interrupt with the AGP slot. If you want to use both you should put it in a different slot. Hope I didn't confuse anyone with that.

As a matter of fact, I am running a two yr old Stealth PCI card in my rig now, gave my good card to get my sisters rig up and running.

Stable card, but I can tell its just not as fast despite both being 32mg.

So, yes, you can get by with one if you HAVE to but certainly dont buy one.

AGP cards are usually the SAME price so buy one of them!

But if you have an old PCI card around then keep it because you'll never know when you'll need it.
