hey welcome to the forums, we all gotta start somewheres.

Overclocking can be pretty easy if you don't want to go all out crazy- take a look at the list of categories on the left hand side of the main overclockers.com page and read read read. Lots of good, helpful articles in there.

To actually do it, you'll need to change your Front Side Bus or FSB. It will be set at 66mhz, you should try the next highest setting of 75mhz. This will increase the speed in which your PC accesses it's components as well as it's internal CPU speed- essentially, you will overclock every device you have by doing this. If any device cannot tolerate the nonstandard bus speed, your PC will crash. but it won't be damaged, don't worry:) just set it back and you are fine.

The method of changing the FSB differs depending on your motherboard- break out the manual and take a look. be warned, some motherboards simply do not support overclocking at all- if your board is like this, you are out of luck.

Good luck!
