I know the resolution is low but i have also tried setting it as it's own display at 640x480@60Hz, it still hurts my eyes... im trying to play emulators and stuff on my TV, and, well, i really cant play it for too long or my eyes hurt lol... anything to do? I also wanted to use the video out to watch videos as well, but it HURTS my eyes :p
Anyone else with this problem? i'm using the 7600GT with the VIVO connector and i have the s-video connected to my tv, driver = 84.21

What kind of TV?
I do basically the same thing as you, I hook up my computer to my 27" Magnavox TV and use it as a secondary monitor for things like emulators, movies, and anime  And i have never had a problem with it hurting my eyes. Might make sure that your video card isnt forcing it to run a refresh rate that is too high.

yea, i use my media center on a 57" projection tv. not the clearest ive seen but it gets the job done. i also have a 27" LCD tv which i use sometimes and its clearer than my media center. both use DVI and VGA connectors. may i suggest steering away from s-video? the other setup i have uses svideo with a 32" tv but i hardly use it. i also find it hard to use, especially while trying to navigate through windows, you cant read anything. its basically only good for movies and games, but ive never really had too much trouble using it for that. maybe you should try moving further away from the tv?

I pretty well have only used it for movie watching so far (but emulators is a good idea...I'll have to give that a shot)
But it's just fine for movie watching but looking at a desktop is harsh on my eyes (Mine are very sensitive to refresh rates and stuff)
But i found that if you setup NView to work in DualView or Clone ...then you don't have to deal with trying to navitgate on the TV, you can do it at your normal monitor. But I think in Clone the Monitor will drop resolution to match (or at least get close or soemthing) to the TV. Dualview seems good for me. You can drag the movie window (or whatever else you're viewing) over to the second desktop and then maximize it and still be able to use the PC.
I did find acceleration issues with this, however. If you are playing a movie in WMP, for instance, the movie will only show on one of your displays. So to get it to display on the TV and not the PC monitor you have to set the TV as the main device in the display control panel. But it works out great for me!

I have a 13" Sony hooked up to the secondary output (s-video) of the primary card (Clone) and set the Full Screen video in CP to play on TV. So whatever WMP is playing windowed on primary monitor of this card gets automatically played full screen on TV.
As far as doing anything else I found using a regular TV (had my 32" hooked up way back in the day) to be a huge pain on the eyes. Way too much flickering is going on. It's like using a CRT monitor set at @60Hz in a room with fluorescent lighting. About only thing one can do is play with color, vibrance, detail settings to make the image very soft and non-flickery.

I have a small bedroom, and im not even joking... it's like 10x10, i'm as far away as possible.

Alright, i'll try playing with those settings, see if i can soften up the image... cause, like, it REALLY hurt my eyes, i played super mario rpg for about an hour and when i came back on here, it were kinda of blurry and i could feel that my eyes hurt... however its not THAT bad running n64 or videos, it's because the snes has low quality gfx i guess, but it still isn't enjoyable, after a lil while.
