will the thouroughbred be socket 462? will it work with my 8kha+?

It will probably be Socket 462, but it probably won't work on your current Motherboard.

why wouldn't it work? its just a different core/speed.

It's all speculative right now...but it may or may not work. They might do something not unlike intel's s370 trip with the PPGA and FC-PGA chips...both fit a s370, but have different pin outs....

Who knows? The guys making them, and they're not saying yet.... Just don't count your chickens before they hatch.

(Actually...see Thelemac regarding anything related to chickens. He's our resident expert. :p )
