Welcome to the forums!

There are lots of good "goops". Arctic Silver 2 is the most popular around here, but as long as the base of your heatsink is very smooth you could always use generic grease. Check out the front page of the site for beginner info, and the cpu database will give you an idea of how far your tbird will go

There was an article i read somewhere recently that compared "goop" and they are all about the same if you apply them properly - most would tell you artic silver 2 is what to use and i do infact use that.

Get thermaltake heatsinks on your memory as well - that helps but active cooling makes no difference so save your money.

How high you can get depends on far too many things just try and overclock the fsb as much as you can even if you need to go to a lower mulitplier.

Get a decent heatsink, i have a silverado but there are many reviews about to help you choose.

at this point i would recommend water cooling if you want ot do serious overclocking but dont, get a good heatsink such as a swiftech (expensive) or a sk6 (not so) and a shim because i can garentee you will do something to a procesor some time

There are a few new people in here. Welcome all!

The KT7 is a good board to overclock. Lets start with what your current temps are and what fans and heat sinks you have. Then we can advise where to go from there. The VIA HW temps are usually off by a little, but are close enough for most. Are you looking for a modest overclock or an extreme one?

Is your processor unlocked? There are some tips that explain this on the front page. I do not recomend the "pencil trick" it often causes problems. Any questions, just ask.
