Im living in New zealand and i found this card on the new zealand "ebay".

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Computers/Components/Video-cards/AGP/auction-62667214.htm

thats very cheap considering 6800's here still costs 350-400 dollars....

Im upgrading my agp radeon 9600, to something better ( a 6600 or 6800). I can sell my current card for quite a bit here, so switching to a new card will only cost me around 80 dollars here...

Question:: anyone know anything about that card in the ad, what brand is that card... is it worth the money ..etc.. any ideas would be appreciated as i dont want to rush in to buying..

dang, if i knew about it, i might of bidded on it :-P
Too bad it's now closed, but i have no idea what brand it is. but money wise, I personally think it would of been really worth it. heck my old Pixelview FX5600XT costed $300NZD :-( But that was a few years ago

Sorry mate dont know who makes that card but..
I like how he says "I have not bothered overclocking this card as the unlocking has provided a considerable performance boast without the extra heat"
So he knows how to unlocked the pipelines but didnt overclock it......yeah right !!!
Just so I can tell you if I think its worth it. what games do you play and what are your other parts in your setup

Sorry I was all so going to ask what part of NZ are you from ?
If counter strike is you main game is there any other new game your thinking about getting in to, I only ask as a 6600GT or 9800pro will play counter strike well and you can save the $$$

from auckland :-0 hehe
well i kinda want my athlon xp to be the best in its "oldschool" class...
i play cs source matches non stop, and it annoys me when the fps drops below 40 when theres a lot of gunfire,..

I do play some of the new games too such as commandos strike force, but they run crap on my comp :(

u guys recon i should jst stick with buyin a 6600gt? or wait a bit and get a 6800 when prices drop again

Well if you go for a better card it will help but the athlon xp will limit you from seeing it's full potential
I've looked around on a number of sites (NZ sites) and you will be paying up to $100 (NZ $$) more going with AGP than PCI-E
You said you can sell your card for good money, could you sell your MB and CPU as well.
I presune you have DDR400 ram as that the main benefit of version 2.0 of your MB, soo you could keep that.
To give you an idea of what Im saying my last set up was on an Abit IC7-G, P4 3.2ghz and an AGP 9800pro on 3D Mark 2001 (CPU OC'd) I would get around 18 to 19000 Ive now got that card in my daughters machine and by chance she has the same CPU as you but on an Asus board, Ive just ran that same test and got 12750
With my 6600GT and my 640 I get 20582

If I was you Id hold off a little longer as AM2 has just come out and Conroe is out in a week or 3. and we should see a bit of a price cut on some of the older CPU ie A64, Opteron if you like AMD or look at a 930 / 940 if Intels an option (Im waiting for the price cut on the 940 at the end of the Month so I can get one more chip out of the AW8 b4 I move on, then maybe Conroe early next year)

Hope thats of some help
Dean.
