I built my Athlon 1.4 system before I really knew anything about OC'ing so I never wrote down the stepping info.
Now armed with lot's o' OC'ing info, it is running happily at 150x9.5. But, it seems anytime I get into the 1.5 range, I lose stability.
I'm wondering if there is any way, short of removing the HSF for me to get the stepping info (i.e is that info stored in the chip somewhere that a program like wcpuid could get it from). I'd like to know if perhaps my particular stepping just can't go higher than 1.5 before I start looking in to other avenues for what is limiting me.
Lazy, I know but it's in a hutch with all the wires routed nicely to keep the little one out of them and I really don't want to get it out.
TIA,
DB
