Its starting to cool down where I live so I am going to overclock again. ( I have no air.) But I have never OCed this chip past 1.175. What would be some of the vcore settings for a higher overclock? Say 1.3 or so.

what type of P3 1Ghz do u mean.. We need more detail. Is it 1000E or 1000EB? And your mobo? Or is it the one in your sig?

First off you need ram that will do greater than 150MHz also your cpu needs to handle it. I have seen some here up the vcore to 2.4v to get what they want but that is just nutz:D Some mobo's don't like fsb's above cerrtain levels too.

and if yours is a EB chip, you'll have to run it at 173.333 mhz FSB to do 1.3. That would be a bit stressing for every components. So I assume you're probably talking about an E chip and supposedly the latest stepping right? yes, 1.3 is do-a-ble. also depends what S-Spec code u have.. :p :burn:
There is no rule of thumb for core voltage except to use the minimum needed to run the system stable. How much voltage you can push depends a great deal on the type and amount of cooling you have. What voltage are you currently using at 1.175 gig? My guess is that if you're stuck at 1.175 gig now, you'll probably never see 1.3 gig (although I'd be happy for you to prove me wrong). However, with a little work and a bit of luck, you might make 1.2 gig.

I think mine did 160FSB at 1.9CV and now at 172FSB\1292MHZ i'm running 2.1 but i am gambling with 2.1 CPU temps will play a big role in getting higher FSB settings as will cooling your northbridge, put a small HSF on if you can. Set your memory to minus clock speed or you wont get much farther or try lower settings like cas 3. By the way if my CPU gets to 32C it will lock up but ive done many cooling mods to keep temps this low.
