View Full Version : Problems with a celeron 800

I have a 800 MHz cc0 celeron 2, that overclocks easily to 1104 MHz at defaultvoltage 1.7 V. But when I try to increase the fsb more, > 138 MHz, the problems start. I have to increase the voltage, (finally :D) but the computer has problems to post. Sometimes the post goes fine, sometimes the monitor will not even start up. And most often, the memory count in the beginning freezes and doesn't recognize all my 512 megs of ram.

I think this is a problem with my psu, since it's only 235 W. Because sometimes i can have my comp to post and go into windows at 1160 MHz, at 1.85V, and there I run games, and even a cpu stability test, and it's rock stable.

I have a cdrom, a harddisk, nic-card, soundcard, and geforce2 connected. If i get a bigger psu (300W or more) do you think I finally can get ridd of my problems, cos this cpu doesn't seem to be at it's limit even at 1160 MHz. I have made it post and played in windows at 1200 MHz sometimes. I would be thankful for some comments.

My mobo is a cus2l-c. Memory can handle 150 fsb cas2.

I forgot to add my cooling. I use an open case, and a Pal 6035 cooler. The temps are all nice, below or equal to 40 C at all overclocking speeds i have tested, full load.

Hi Mackan, welcome to the Forum,
Your Cellie 800Mhz @1.7v wants to go 34.2Watt, but at 1.20Ghz always @1.7v wants 51.4watt!!! at this point considering all the other peripherals, Yes, can be a PS problem ;) if possible try with the PS of a friend or go with a new 300-350W, personally I suggest you an Enermax.
