Got WinME 3dmark2000 score went up, 3dmark21 score went DOWN?!

Okay,
I have just reformated my drive and made partitions for Win Me and Win2k. I wont have Win2k till this weekend (hopefuly).
I have installed all the Drivers including Via4in1 AGP 4x Turbo mode. In Win2k my 3dmark21 score was like 2238, now im getting 1886 or around that..but the point is its below 2000!
However 3dmark2000 score went from 2400 or something close to tha to like 4000! So if 3dmark 2000 is giving me better scorez then why isnt 3dmark2001?
Im d/ling the new drivers for my card right now, I have alrdy gotin direct x 8 and install I also have 8.1 but havent installed yet, going to see if these new drivers fix my score.

As far as I am concerned ME is crap, install Win 2K on its own or go to XP. Looks as though you have done everything right. You mentioned you have the new 4in1's are they version 434 and have you the most up to date bios for you mobo??

Save for a new processor it will make a diff

Also try the Win2K 7530 drivers off Pinky's site , they have given me the best performance and I am running XP.

Okay guyz here the thing...
I installed DX 8.1, got the newest drivers for my card which is now called Radeon 7200 (?) under system profile, DX 8.1 actualy made things slower...lowered even my 3dmark2000 score, Soo..
I got directxbuster and removed 8.1 installed 8.0a and then I had a problem..all my agems ran fine..but 3dmark2001 said i need to have 8.0+ installed...well crap! I do have it installed..I then removed 8.0a, installed 8.0, same thing, So I reinstalled 8.0a for the last time, same thing, I then installed 8.1 again without removing 8.0a and now everything is back to normal and my scores are back up...
Oh and about getting a new cpu...
I have a 1ghz Athlon, but I need a new board and well thats taking awhile because i keep haveing to use my mula for gas...and my Dad wont let me have a job yet...so oh well.

hey Angry, I have the same card Radeon 32MB SDR (PCI), what are your scores? I just installed Direct X 8.1 on Windows 2000 Pro, what program do you use for benchmarks?
