Well I've tried a Viper 2 card and a Creative Labs Annihilator2 mx card and neither one are compatible with the Red Hat 7.
Bummer.
Luckily I have a couple more weeks of free tech support from RH.

If you have XFree86 <4.1 you will need to get the drivers off of nvidia.com and install them, PS SuSE saw and used my MX. Unfortunately it was s/ware rendering. So in mesa gears w/ software rendering I got about 130FPS. Whwen I installed the proper drivers - 1760. Big difference.

XFree86 4.x should do 2D without any trouble on Nvidia boards. Not sure about the MX, it came out later, I think, so you'd probably need a later version of XFree.

At any rate, the Nvidia drivers should do the trick.

The MX works fine in Redhat, just choose anything with the nv driver, then go to nvidia's webpage www.nvidia.com and download the correct version and follow their instructions.

I have the GTS, and it works, my friend has the MX and the GO, they both work fine

Quake 3 in Linux, GeForce 2 MX...nice. Very nice. Better than in windows.
