I got a laptop recently, and it came with pc4200 ddr2 sodimm with Duo core Intel. What i'm comfuse about if i upgrade it to pc5300 ddr2, will it able to run pc5300 BandWidth?

Current CPU-Z show pc4200 (266mhz) and cpu fsb166 and FSB/DRAM ratio 5/8. All i know, 266mhz x 2(DDR2) x 8 = pc4200 Brandwidth. Please clerified me :bang head

You memory is running at a divider. Assuming you can change that, or it changes automatically, you should be able to run at pc5300 bandwidth.

What's divider? I thought it need to change ram FSB to 333 in order to run pc5300 ram in 5300 bandwidth?

333 fsb x 2(DDR2) x 8 =5300 correct?
