I am not knowledgeable of this radiator, however I would
recommend a DD Super cube I think it is called or a black ice
radiator.

the black ice was my fist choice since this review http://www.overclockers.com/articles481/

I want a low drop pressure radiator.

I would reccomend the supercube over the Black ice but
if you want the big momma why not talk to the person who
did the review?

The big momma can be purchased from www.caseetc.com. Also you might want to check www.liquidcool.org, for their monolith and leviathan radiators, cheaper and in the case of the leviathan, bigger than the big momma rad.

I'm far from knowledgable about who offers what,

OCWC used (?) to sell the Big Momma (it's Chip's name)
DangerDen also sells the same heater core

probably others

(and any auto parts house if you can resolder the fittings

be cool

Just go buy a heatercore of the same dimensions. Not hard to find. are you looking for one Canada in particular? Go to Canadian tire, get them to check a few models of small cars to find one the right size and for a good price. I found a 1990 ford escort core without air conditioning to be the same size as a "big momma", looks almost the same in fact. Buy the right size hose connectors (you can probably get those at Canadian tire too, and you can get great clear hose there too)... I think soldering is the most bomb proof way of attaching them to the heater core, but I used marine goop, it cures quite solid and seals it. The one I bought was only $56 dollars Canadian (I had the hose connectors laying around). I spent almost no time looking, it happened to be the first radiator of a satisfactory price I saw, so they got it from the back for me to check the size and it was exactly right. doing this you can find a heater core that will fit your case if you have any particular size specs you need to meet to get the thing inside. And I would bet you could find an even better price than that.

I have a '87 Chevy Chevette heater core on it's way to me from www.autozone.com

It's 6" x 6-1/8" x 2" (just a little smaller than big momma) and it only cost me $17 (plus $8 for tax and shipping).

The '88 Pontiac Fiero heater core (Big momma according to Colin) was $42 plus tax and shipping. If the BM is a '88 Fiero core w/o AC it's 6-1/4" x 6-1/4" x 2, but the one at Dangerden and CasETC are cheaper than that, but 6" x 7".

(a little later...) Well, I may be wrong about the Fiero core. Here's an ebay ad saying it's the same dimensions as the Chevette core I've ordered
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=598000621&r=0&t=0

It seems this guy sells cores, he's a regular Heater Core Hal, and he's asking $25 minimum bid plus $10 ship for this one.

Okiedokie... I got the '87 Chevette core. It's overall dimensions are 6.5" wide by 7.75' tall by 2" thick with the pipes sticking out further obviously. Whomever does the measurements at GDI, the manufacturer, needs new glasses. I'd thought I'd read what I posted above but went back to doublecheck, it actually says 6.25x6.75... which is still incorrect.

So, the Fiero core may be a bit smaller. The dimensions on it are supposed to be 6.25x6.25x2.0... but the big momma is supposed to be the Fiero core and it's 6x7... but it would've cost me at least $10 more off Ebay (if I won with the lowest bid there now) and $45+ from Autozone.

Still, If I move my lower HD to an upper 5.25 bay, I can still fit it in the lower front of my case :D ...it's just barely wide enough! I will have to drill/cut out a bunch of metal tho to allow for proper airflow

Sites like autozone often quote the size of the airflow area not the overall size, that may explain the differences you're seeing.

many others have been down this same unpleasant path

I tested 4 radiators of his, and returned them
yet he ignores my e-mail
and is skinning me out of $40 for some material that he lost
(he has no gratitude either)

some have good experiences, do you feel lucky ?
