View Full Version : How do i insert a link into a picture?
hi all i was wondering if photoshop or any other programs like it are capable of inserting a working internet link into a picture, not making the whole picture a link though but inserting a link which you can click on within the picture..jpeg/gif etc. or if flash is the only way? thanks in advance :)

Yes you can. In Imageready use the slice tool to make a selection within the image that is clickable. Double click the slice and give it an address. When you save the file as optimized make sure you have it output the html for you too, unless you code in notepad.
thank you very much nikhsub1! i will give that a shot now :)
hmm picture wont go in the forums..thats odd..well this is a link to it http://members.home.net/touser3/tribessig2.html
does anyone know why this picture wont show up in the forums? it wouldnt show in the madonion board either!
I don't think you can use tables in the forum (slicing up an image is putting them into div. cell in a table) html is disable.
Why not just use the whole picture for the link?
Well, there is a way in HTML to define a box around any region of a picture and make it into a link. Actually, it's technicaly a polygon.... But since the boards don't allow HTML, I won't say how... That and I don't know how....
