 i fry my PIII 800 and 600e within 5 hours!! I just screwed up my 800, for i just uh... "electrified it to dead," and my 600e was tragically went away during the process of removing the cover... I hope there is a CPU heaven where they can rest in peace...:(

Anyway, the only thing that left is my 300a...and it is running at 502 so far, will do better after burn in...i hope.

Man that stinks, reminds me of the day I got my defective Abit Be6 v2 mobo.......I installed it and it fried 2 perfectly good cpus before I decided to just cut my losses and reinstall the old mobo.

Luckily the vendor replaced all my cpu's and gave me a replacement mobo......

Actually he tested the mobo that I rma-ed and it blew one of his cpus as well...he wasnt a happy camper.

Hey one trick I learned when dealing with SECC cpu's is that instead of just removing the back cover, while you have it off cut out a small square in the back for airation and just put the cover back on and add a 40 mill fan if you feel the need although it isnt really necessary.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune as tossing good money in our addiction to achieve every last Mhz is a price we must be prepared to pay. Hope you figure out what went wrong so as not to make the same mistake again.
