I have a saphire x800gto w/r430 core. I was able to mod the bios and unlock the 4 extra pipes, but my clocks were crap. Stock 400/490, oc 450/525.
I am ready to vmod vdd, vddq, and vgpu, but I am getting strange readings on the dmm (using the techpowerup guide for reference).
vgpu =1.66v
vdd = 2.36v
vddq = 2.49v
These numbers seem a bit high for stock. I expected to see 1.3-1.4v on the gpu and around 2.0-2.1v for vdd & vddq. Gpu temp maxes out around 56c, so my temps ar fine, but I am still concerned about the voltages.
Anyone want to take a stab at this?

Against better judgment, I completed the mod. With very slight voltage increase to vdd & vddq, the mem will hit 550 (2.0ns). The core will not budge bast 448.
I still have not figured out why my initial dmm readings were so high.
Does anyone have any idea why?

Seems like something might be up with your DMM. 550 sounds ok for 2ns with very close to 2v. You're going to want to put both vdd and vddq in the 2.3-2.4v territory, would get you closer to 600. Are your batteries new?

Mid 400's is typical of R430's...usually there's not much you can do about it. :-/

Could be. I had to resolder the power plug for the 9v battery on the dmm because of a bad connection. The reading were a little closer to what that should have been today. I'll have to pick up a new dmm before I go any further.
Thank you!
