Hi Guys,

I am about to get E6600 soon as it's released and I am in position to get intel new 975XBX "bad axe" for really cheap at work. How is this board for overclocking conroe? I have been here really good things about this board. I can get this board for less than ASUS p5B or Abit ab9. But overclocking is most important for me at this point.

thank you!

All current Conroe boards have issues. However the BadAxe is a very good overclocking board, they just die occasionally for no apparent reason.

I love both my D975XBX's...they overclock very well...

Just make sure you get a Revision 304 board so it will support Conroe...

If you have V hungry ram I would pass on the badaxe. Even if its WAY cheap.
But if its REALLY cheap, rev.304 and your ram doesn't need too much V (less then 2.2V) then

Or you could pencil mod your BadAxe to get higher mem voltage...

The fet will BLOW and supply 3.9-4V to your ram killing it, and possibly your CPU if your run the ram voltage over 2.2V thats all it can handle
High ram voltage turns the badaxe into a time bomb for your components IMHO.
