View Full Version : (out of stock) best backup card/lowend EVER
well folks, remember how hyped up we were when we got those x600 pci-e's for like 20 bux, expecting them to game a bit, and while they are great backup cards..gaming performance sucks bawlls..
i just came upon this: 6200 dual monitor PCI (not pci-e) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143058)
not only does this card support dual monitor, but even running on the regular pci bus with half the memory..it does a decent job
here's a comparison of 3dmark scores
x600:
3dmark01:8800
3dmark03:2300
3dmark05:1300
6200:
3dmark01:7932
3dmark03:2382
3dmark05:691
so if anyone's lookin for a backup/lowend this one looks good..i mite just sell of my x600 and pick up this so i can run dual monitor when i run my backup card...

"Performs much better then any other PCI card and surpassed my expectations for every game except for Battlefield 2. When overclocked it can run Half-Life 2 with everything maxed out at a very acceptable 25-35 fps." -NewEgg Revewer
Wow...
EDIT: think you could really get 25-35 fps on HL2 with one of these cards? And can PCI card overclock

It is a PCI (old-school) card. It is compatible as long as you have a PCI slot. ;)

I'm building a PC for my TV and put this card in it. I have a 800P3, 512 SDRAM, and this card and scored about 12k on Aquamark. Best thing I like about it is that it has all the new features of the new cards, just a bit slower :)
Ya, I had a 6200 PCIE for a while before I gave it away with a system that I built. They are solid cards. Mine was a 256MB TurboCache with 64MB memory onboard.
Nice find d94 :)
I probably shoudn't mention this because I pay with money order but they are back in stock. Please leave one for me!
hmm
now nothing comes up @ all..anyone find this anywhere for $30!?
