View Full Version : HELP !!! - How do I get Microsoft RAMdisk to make a drive of 200mb ?

I downloaded the MS-Ramdisk and Im using it under my Windows XP. I want it to have the size of 200mb as I have 512mb of RAM. How can I do it ?. I can't get it working !

If I'm not mistaken, Microsofts Ramdisk is either limited to 64k or 64mb. Definitedly can't do 200. You need a 3rd party program for that. I believe there is one called RAMDISK98 or something like that but it's shareware. I've fiddled with it some but I can't find a good use for a ramdrive yet so I haven't played with it that much. One good thing about it though is it allows frequent saves of the ramdisk to hard drive and when you reboot, it remakes the ramdrive and moves the saved information back to it. So you don't really lose the information after a boot.
