I have a XP1700 that I have unlocked, well kind of.
I have an AK31 V3.1 main board and here is what happens.
I can get the 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 multipliers to work however none of the .5 works and it defaults to what the main numbers are, i.e. 11.5=11. Does anyone else have this problem? Did I mess something up? Could it be my main board BIOS being flaky? Or maybe I messed up the unlocking.

What did you use to unlock it? Take a good look at your bridges with a magnifying glass, and if you see anything suspicious, redo that bridge. If you can't see anything that looks bad, redo all the bridges, one at a time if you used a quick unlocking method (thremal goop and conductive grease) or all at once if what you used takes time to dry.
Hope you could understand that.

Black silicone sealant to fill in the bridge gaps and window defager piant. Did a high resoultion scan with my scanner and it looks okay.

I may be off on this but here goes.

I think that the silicone may be the problem with your attempt. As a contractor I know that when you try to paint over silicone caulk, the paint will check and crack, with flat paints being especially prone to this. Given that the defogger paint is much thinner and applied in a very thin coat, you may not be able to visually detect these cracks.

I've read of successful results attained by using "super glue" or non conductive epoxy to fill the depressions. Perhaps this is the root of your problem.

I hope this helps.

Good Luck!

I have also seen this symptoim when the "pits" were not covered properly.
It usually defaults to 11, but can also cause you not to be able to get the .5's
