i can't seem to get my P4 1.7 past 1.955Ghz

i can't post with the FSB past 115\

i have seen many others with my similar setup hitting 2100 or better with a 1.7

i have ordered a Koolance system to cool everything down
and a 550 watt PSP

i think these may be some of the problems becasue if the intel gets too hot, it throttles down and the PSP i am using is a cheap 300watt

my biggest concern is the fact that my ABit TH7 RAID uses Soft Menue II and does not have a place to adjust the PCI\AGP divider

can you use third party software to adjust the dividers, or am i screwed?

please help

thanks,

trey:mad:

First off if you are below 133 your bios is probably using the 2/3 dIvider. You have not mentioned temps so it's hard to know wheither heat is really an issue. The one trick I used to achieve 125FSB was to lower my ram multiplier to 3x in the bios. I am using the Asus P4t mobo and am not aware of whether this setting is available in Softmenu II. Hope this has helped some. I'll kept an eye on this thread to watch your progress. Please let us Know if you succeed.

thanks, for the help

i'll keep you informed on the progress

and i do have the place where i can change the multiplier on the RDRAM

but, it did not make a difference.

my temps are like about 39 C at idle

and top out around lower 50's at full load

Well I think you shouldn't go any higher because your full load is 50..

Hope that koolance will do the job.

I don't think anything higher than what you have will post since your temperatures is too high..
