Im currently building my new althlon system and im about to buy the fans. I wonder what fans i should put in there...Im looking for a setup that is fairly quiet but can perform well enough.
Also is there a lot of differences between the different brands or most of them perform equally?
Thanks a lot!

Mostly it is preference. As far as noise goes there are many factors. In any given size, 80mm for example, the higher CFM fan you get the more DB's it will put out. A 120 mm fan can blow more air and be quieter than any 80mm fan. Good brands are (in no particular order): Sunon, Panaflow, UltraCool, YS Tech, Delta, Sanyo Denki and some others I am sure I am forgetting. For case fans I would recommend anything from 30 cfm to 50 cfm in an 80mm size, that is usually the size for case fans. Of course that also depends on how much noise you can tolerate. For low noise and good flow bigger fans are obviously better but that usually requires making custom holes in the case. This is where I get all my fans, http://sidewindercomputers.com/ (I don't work for them) they have good prices and a good selection and ship very timely.
they also have a place for you to listen to the fans
very nice it is
there is one manufacturer you forgot that is good nikhsub1

I would say if you do 80mm fans get the 42cfm or 50 cfm. At least 2 intake in the bottom front or bottom, I would do an exhaust at the back near the top and at the top of the case in the center, near the PSU and CPU. I run 4 intakes, 2 in bottom front and 2 on the floor of the chassis, with 3 exhausts, one in back, one on top and one in the PSU. My case temps are at max only 2 deg. Celsius above ambient:D Right now my case temp is 23 Celsius
