Sorry for yet another power supply question.
I'm still shopping for one, but am looking for comparisons between the PC Power & Cooling and the Enermax. Quality is what I'm interested in, with price being an important but secondary concern. Any independent reviews or personal experience will be appreciated.
I just got my 431W Enermax & it's doing fine. I don't suggest you order it 'cause you will not be able to test it. Go to a computer store & have them test out the voltages/amps on all the rails during load. That's what I did & I got me a healthy one.
Enermax....
Lots of Enermax users have had good rails.
They actually were like 5.28 or whichever..
Never dropped.

I'm seeing a lot of threads recently mentioning the 5V line, and usually something about higher is better. Is this correct? If so, I think I have correctly diagnosed some of my recent problems as being PSU related. My 5V is around 4.83 with SETI running. It jumps to 4.95 with SETI off. So how bad is having a low 5V? Good thing I've been shopping, I guess.

If money is not an issue, go for the PC Power&Cooling Turbo-Cool 425. If you can afford the best, buy it. There is also a Silencer 425. Chances are that the Silencer comes up a tad short in output Amerage compared to the Turbo-Cool 425. But the Silencers ARE very quiet. Turbo-Cools are loud. Do Enermax PS's come with a three year warranty? I've been running a Silencer 275 for three years. Not a burp.
I've read that PC P&C's are rebadged Zippy-Emacs and Sparkles, over the years. Dunno if this is true. I don't think that Sparkles and Zippy-Emacs come with excellent warranties.

I dont think anything over 5v will do any better of a job thin 5v at 5v
anything close to 5v is fine
the PC Power & Cooling psu is maybe the best psu they make sense it will keep your voltage the same during idle and load
I just got a enermax and I love it. keeps above 5v during idle and during load
the newer enermax psu's are supposed to of fixed the 5v issue
I have the 450w pc power and cooling turbocool.
I use it with my epox 8k7a and at 1.7ghz and 2.05vcore my 5.0v is
5.0v idle 4.99v at load.
50a on the 5.0v +or- 1% is sweet.

Thanks for the input guys. Still looking for comparisons, though. As in, what makes one better than the other. Any reviews? I'm having trouble finding anything on hardware sites.
There's not much of a comparason..
They're just about running the same really.

Have you considered a HEC psu? They are solid workhorses, I use both and like them equaly as much,
Here's a Enermax -HEC comparison:

Never considered it, but I'd never heard of it. :) Thanks for the link! That's the first comparison I've seen. I must be losing my touch for the search engines.
