O.K., here it goes. I just installed my Soyo Dragon and 1.4 T-Bird into my new case, but it didn't turn on. After some wire pushing and floppy correcting, I was able to get it to boot. But this is where it gets bad. I could only get it to boot if I held the INSD key to bypass all the initial diag's and force it to run at 100 FSB with 10.5 multi. Now this combo was working at 1670 just a few hours ago. Checked everything a hundred times. Got so good with the heat sink clip I can take it off with my hands now. ;)

I took everything out, booted it on my desk several tries later with my old power supply and was finally able to get the 133 bus. But the multiplier is still stuck on 10.5!!! What's up with that. I've seen a discussion somewhere where a guy had the same problem just can't remember where. I don't ahve another socket A motherboard to test out if it's the board or the CPU. I can't even underclock the multiplier so it's acting like the bridges are broken but I've triple checked that. I even drew over them with a pencil to be sure. So write now I'm running at 1470 stable but I miss my 1600! Please help.

How high did you get your FSB with your board. I got mine to boot into WindowsXP at 155Mhz. I was running at 1550Mhz but i left it at 1.4Ghz until i get back my PSU.

I was able tog et it up to 145 a while back, haven't messed with it lately. Didn't notice a real difference in my programs when running at 1600 vs. 1400. I'll give it a try this afternoon with the new BIOS but I'm not expecting much. I have a Crucial 256 2100 memory board and I've seen a few reviews of the dragon with this combo and could only get a fsb UP TO 140. I have real old video card as well that is probably not helping either; ATI Xpert 99.
My old power supply was an AGI that came with my original Athlon computer two years ago. It's rated at 300w but works great. I did notice that the volatges were a bit low on my board then as well. Maybe that effected the FSB potential. My new power supply is an Enhance 300W, but all the volatages are well above the norm. It puts out a lot more amps at the 3v and 5v line. I'll add it to the thread when I give it a try.
