good PS2 games?

ffx-2 (couple hours)
all the gta games
tekken 5
... can't think of any more.

I like Metal Gear Solid 3, it's pretty much the only console game I play anymore.

Don't bother with DQ or Suikoden. The PS2 Suikoden games are aweful.

TRPG
-Disgaea-Best TRPG out there. Best gameplay/menus/options/extras. The story is not exactly drama. Its a very light hearted comical game. Graphics are ok. You can seriously put 10000 hours into this game. Characters can go up to level 10000 and then start over with higher stats from level 1 so you can essentially power up a character about 30000 or so levels.
-Stella Deus-Great 2d Artwork, Superb story, Battlefileds look good. Downsides, not a lot of options, somewhat repetitive enemies, short game.

RPGs
-Grandia 3-Fun 40 Hour RPG. Not a lot of extras or plot deviations.
-FFx and X2-Ok games but just play through them. Don't bother getting everything. Tidus's best weapon is nearly impossible to get and you have to play stupid mini games to get it. Things like this kill the fun factor. Graphics are good but the stories are so so.

Grand Turismo 4 sucks!!!!!! Its way to difficult and the computer is super cheap.

You know, I really recommend going to your local gamestop and seeing if they have Way of the Samurai. It didn't get great reviews or anything, but for some reason, this really was my favorite PS2 game. I don't know why, I just love it. As far as RPGs go, I spent most of my time playing my old PSOne rpgs on the PS2...But, like Ebola said, those TRPGs are really great. Check out Disgaea for sure, and also maybe Phantom Brave.

Tidus's best weapon is nearly impossible to get and you have to play stupid mini games to get it. Things like this kill the fun factor. Graphics are good but the stories are so so.

lol no fricken way. Tidus' ultimate weapon sigil(im pretty sure that was the choco bird dodge) was sooo easy. Took me maybe 1 night or around 4 hours of trying to do it. I racked up 130 hours on that game getting everything, made jecht so incredibly easy when you do 99,999 dmg(x5 with tidus ult or x..11? with Wakka's Ult).

The hardest by far is lulu's sigil. To get it you have to dodge 200 lightnings in the whatever planes they are. Now that i would not spend my time ever doing. lol.

Over all great game though. I hated X-2 to death so i never bought it, but i whole heartedly reccomend FFX. I might say i liked it more then FFVII, but the materia leveling was so cool.

Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction

It's an experience you'll never forget and I doubt there's more fun to be had on the PS2 (since there's no Ninja Gaiden on the PS2...)

That game STILL hasn't gotten the credit it deserves. It's short... but it's sweet, and the Hulk doth smash...

Tekken games are awesome IMO. I also just got From Russia With Love, and it whoops Goldeneye's ass. the Burnout driving games are good - Burnout 3: Takedown is probably the best. Devil May Cry 1 and 3 are pretty good. The NHL and Madden games from EA are also pretty good.

I love all the sports games, but the EA ones especialy tend to have VERY slow loading times on the PS2..... Also, forgot to mention the Castlevania games on the PS2 are good.

Timesplitters 1/2/3 are VERY good FPS's for PS2 despite it being a FPS on a console. I'm trying to find all 3 for GameCube but I dont know where to buy used games for cheap.

Burnout: Revenge (already on your list). I have it for Xbox and it kicks ass for an arcade style game

Burnout 3 is also good. I prefer it to 4, apart from you dont gets as good cars.

The world rally series are fun. I just play because you can smash up your car :P

is there any difference between Burnout 3:Takedown and Burnout Revenge? it seemed from reviews if you got Revenge you didn't need Takedown... i've played Takedown on xbox and it was awesome

FFX: The ultimate weapons were decently easy to get, well besides Aurons'. The hardest thing to get was Nemesis, and once you got him that in no way meant you could beat him.

Just with the GTA games you would have hundreds of hours more of game time.

I played Twisted Metal Black at a friend's house when it first came out.

Yes, it's cheesy, but it's FUN cheesy.... especially once you earn Sweet-tooth... the Evil Demonic Clown and his Icecream Truck of Doom.

i have 50+ PS2 games, some i havent played because i saw them and bought them because theyre games that are hard to get. collecting games is what i do, i've got almost 80 NES games but i have atleast played them all unlike my PS2 games

I second the Ace Combat games. Also the Champions of Norrath games are awesome. My friends and I can get together and play it 4player for 7 or 8 hours straight. If your looking for one player games though I wouldn't reccommend Champions.
