yeah, should be enough, make sure its a good 300Watts though, get an Enermax 350 those seem like a good match for your system...

I wouldn't run a high end AMD system on any less than an approved 400W.

I've had to order 2 new PSUs this past week because the 300W I have just don't cut it. They're Antec as well which is no slouch.

400W Antec or Sparkle would be real nice.

I Think it will run it but I would spend a lil extra (or look around a bit) and get a 400 wt. because if he wants to upgrade with any new hardware he might run in to problems and it will cost more in the long run when he has to buy another supply and ends up useing the other one as a door stop ...:D

I think that is a little short..

Go with Enermax AMD Approved PSU's.

dude no, 300 will not be enough, the system you see in my sig will run on a 300, but i had to take out my dvd drive just to have enough power, so get at least a 400 for that system

seems that if 300watts runs all of my crap, it i'll definetly be enough for your system, but i would i recommend going ahead and getting a 400wt enermax for the future. . .

funny thing about my psu (hec 300gr), win i ordered my case from directron.com, i choose the "Athlon" psu. assuming it was athlon approved. i was at amd's site a couple weeks ago looking at the approved stuff, didnt see my psu. i got the manufactors website, didnt even see it listed. i emailed them about it. the response email was in all caps and read like this: WHEN AND WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR POWER SUPPLY?? REPLY IMEDDIATLY!
weird, huh?

I think a quality 300W would run that system just fine. I have a Sparkle 350W ($55 from servercase.com) that works fine fine for my system.
KT7a-RAID
Tbird @1.4
Siluro GTS
Live!
TV tuner
29160
6 IDE hard drives
2 IDE CDROMS
1 SCSI 10K hard drive
4 120mm Sunon fans
1 Neon tube
And more...

You did not list anywhere near what I am running off of 350W.
Yes, more would be better. I think the people who are recomending 400+ did not read what you have and are just saying what they want.

Why are you people unjustifiably sending him out to spend more money?

You want to know if that powersupply is going to be enough. All computer hardware lists its power consumption, either in the manual or on the hardwares website. Add it all up and see if it goes over 300W. Simple as that.

Chances are it's not going to break 200 with what you put in that machine.

People go nuts over powersupplies, especially since the AMD put the 300Watt requirement out. Please. I have a 850 t-bird running in a case with 7 hard drives, a CDRW, soundcard, NIC, ATA100 controller, and 7 fans, one of them being a 120mm and its all on a 250W PSU and it all runs fine.

The only thing that you HAVE to do is have an AMD certified 300W PSU. You technically dont need it for what you have in your system, but if your chip ever bites the dust they cant argue the power supply issue if its AMD approved.
