why, when i look at the spd tab in cpu-z does it show 2 settings for this memory 1 for 166mhz @ 2-3-3-7 and 200mhz @ 2.5-3-3-8, yet corsair recommends 2-3-3-6, anyone have an answer to this?

The SPD timings are what a MOBO uses if you set all memory parameters on automatic (or default...whatever it is on your MOBO) and just set the memory speed.

So at 166mhz the memory will run at 2-3-3-7, and at 200mhs it will run at 2.5-3-3-8. Then Corsair lowered the latency SPD for this ram at 200mhz to 2-3-3-6 (but thet couldn't reprogram the SPD timings for the sticks already sold!). I would suspect that it will run at 200mhz 2-3-2-5, 1T.

On Corsair's webitesite you can find out what ICs are on your sticks, then see what others with those ICs are doing.
