We´ve published an article on a total cap swap mod over a DFI nF4 Ultra-D.

Board improoved its stability for ram overclocking havent tryed max on my cpu yet

even with the garbled google translation, its still a nice guide.
a safer solution to drilling the holes out is to put them in just as they came out, heating both pads and wrigglin it's way through, then when you get it all the way in there, stick on a dab of fresh solder and trim them up.

So you replaced all the capacitors on the board with higher quality capacitors to improve your stability while overclocking right? One trick I use (similar to what Four is doing) is hold a small push pin (standard sewing kit) at the entrance of the solder pad on the face of the board. While heating the back solder pad I gently push the pin through. The pin is larger in diameter (slightly) than the legs of the capacitors and makes for an easy job of installing the new ones. Then like Four mentioned, you simply give it a bit of new solder and make sure you've got a good joint. Nice guide :).

What did you replace the Nichion's with? Those Nichion's are pretty decent as they were. From the picture, I can't really tell what they are, Panasonic maybe?
i got some samxom caps to replace them

im not an organised person, so theres usually never a pin around when im doing soldering lol. if the holes are a little bigger, i sometimes heat the solder and then just give a nice quick blow at it while its still good and melted, and just blow it out of there. but then you have hot little bits of lead flyin aroud, and it dont work on small holes like we encounter on motherboards.

Hey Metro, I was wondering if you would see a bigger difference if you went with the Aluminium electrolytics (say Sanyo) ?

Nice work man. I shake way too much to mess with small stuff like that. How much did it help in stability though? Was it worth it?

As far as i know if you remove the plastic cover from these they are "the same" as the pure aluminium caps.
you have to get just better caps looks dont really tell much.
i got 3d stability with ram at 270 2225 before was only stable for super pi 32m.
i tryed to push the cpu harder and got dry ice (i did 3500MHz before for sp1m and 3490 for sp2m) but it was to cold and the coldbug came so i coulndt really push the cpu.
with the risk i took replacing the caps i wouldnt say it is worth in a good mobo like the lanparty but definetly in a lower quality mobo it should help a lot

The Aluminium ones come as hybrid solid-state and liquid electrolytic. Nominal ESR should be around ~0.022 Ohms. Do you have a link to the datasheet for the caps you used. I'm trying to recap an old A7V I have, so I'm looking for the best available options.
