Lost 1,000 points in 3dmark06, noticed more tearing, lag, and image quality has reduced. (this is on a crossfire system). These are by far the worst drivers I have used yet for crossfire. I noticed graphic anomolies in Guild Wars and in the 3dmark testing phase. 3dmark05 outright crashed before the first test even loaded with some sort of DirectX error.

I tested uses Cat AI normal and Cat AI advanced. The new advanced method caused more tearing and problems than Cat AI normal. I will be reverting back to 6.6 immediately.

3dmark scores are fine when on single card. only had issues with crossfire.

I'd like to change what I said in my first post. Albeit the quality was absolutely HORRIBLE on my crossfire setup, with the single card the quality is amazing. In fact, all walls, railings, shutters, radio towers, look perfect! I see no jaggies or shimmering problems with Cat AI disabled and AAA only on performance. :)

(Because many users do not appreciate 1280x1024 res pics in a thread that isn't specifically stated as being a "pic" thread, I will post some low res shots of the quality).

I'm debating ditching my x1900 Crossfire card and just keeping the XTX... I'm having nothing but problems with Crossfire and just can't stop the jitters and random blackouts....

Given how much I spent on these cards, I might be switching to NVidia soon.....

M Diddy, I have found that in nvidia vs ATI situations - ATI > Nvidia in single card solutions and SLi > Crossfire in multi GPU solutions. Although Nvidia has the downfall of requiring profiles for each game to be SLI supported, the games that are supported look and play WAY better than I've found with crossfire. I got rid of my Master card and am running a single x1900 now and am happy. :)

My first question that comes up with the new drivers...

Does this driver have that issue just as the 6.5's and 6.6's with ATITool setting the clocks and it reverting back to 2D clocks when playing any sort of video (weather it be in media player or ingame).

if your OC with atitool is only 665/752 why dont you just overclock it in overdrive to 665/752 and then you wont have that problem lol, your voltage seems to be at stock 3d values anyway if I am not mistaken.

You dont gain anything by overclocing in atitool or lose anything overclocking in overdrive to the same speeds....

another thing you need a dually at 2.6 at the very least not to bottleneck a stock card, so your OC doesnt matter anyway

I don't know, my default clocks are my 3d clocks (modified the bios). So I haven't had any such issue for a long time.

there's many ways around it, vixro we have the same card, you said you have a modified bios, what are your modifed clocks, I might wanna try that badboy.

So i read up on the AAA and A.I. and then turned the AAA on quality and A.I. off , it didnt effect my 3dmark scores at all, and heres a pic of BF2.

Mine has 1.1ns ram, yet doesn't have that great of overclocking ability. Other than that, I can do 650/775 easily without problems. It's when I go higher that I have issues, you may have better luck. ;)

First reason not running CCC, its not stock, running modified fan values, and also running less voltage on the core and could probably run less on memory as well since its well limited :( Lousey memory controller holding me back.

Second reason for stock card and 2.6Ghz, I think not. Heck a 100Mhz more and slightly faster on the card (leaving stock voltage and bumping up that memory voltage to 1.58V) and only scored a lousy 100 points more in 06.

Third for some stupid reason Overdrive doesn't work properly on my system anymore. I can't get it to run and I've tried to do it before. I think its something screwy with my windows install since there is a few things that isn't 100% right, but im not going to reinstall for something like that. Its not annoying enough yet and I don't want to reinstall unless I really have to.

for god's sake have they fixed the shadows yet? I haven't even bothered trying 6.6 or 6.7 because 6.4 and 6.5 ****ed up my oc profiles and still didn't "scratch my itches" with game bugs (****ed up shadows in many games = #1 problem).
